You better not be throwing anything away yet, lady!!!
Ha! Not until that 50k word count is reached, that’s for sure.
Phew! Thank God for that. I’m tempted to go back through and edit already, but I’m forcing myself not to. This is an exercise in self-control for me.
Right? It’s so hard. I’ve had to completely ban myself from even reading what I’ve written. But it’s very liberating in a way. I can’t tell myself how awful I am until the whole awful first draft is out there.
Agreed. I started re-reading the beginning a few days ago and then said, NOPE! I haven’t done it since, and it’s really helped. I know a lot of what I’ve written is junkie or will need a ton of editing, but I’m looking forward to it. So far, I have a solid base for plot and characters and the ending! OHHHHH!!!!! You know how I always told you how mean you were to poor Rustav? Yeah… that’s definitely me in this new book. My poor MC is just tossed around and maimed and nearly killed so many times, it really is amazing how much I can put him through and have him push forward no matter what.
Bah ha!! I’m a bad influence on you. Rustav and your MC can start a support group. 🙂
